pass pass, that's a question that begs an answer, to be sure. The only thing I can guess is this: Diana may have been anxious to lose the photographers, but she wasn't stupid. There's no way that she as the mother of her two boys, not to mention her own desire for survival, would have stepped into a car knowing that the driver was drunk. Further, it's incomprehensible that she would have wanted even a sober driver to go 121 MPH, particularly entering a tunnel. Therefore, even though we don't know for sure yet, I have to assume the driver was incomprehensibly stupid to knowingly drive the Princess of Wales at 121 MPH while drunk.

As for Dodi, as nice a man as he is portrayed, he obviously displayed a monumental lack of good judgement. One has to wonder how much he really cared for Diana. Even if one assumes Dodi didn't realize the driver was drunk, it was clearly plain idiotic to allow the car to go 121 MPH in a vain attempt to outrun motorcycles. It's not as if the motorcyclists were shooting guns at them. The whole sorry episode is just an incredible, quite needless tragedy.
