MIke: Hang around, need your help every now and then. I'm still somewhat bullish.
When I started frequenting this thread I bought the stock out of impulse, then did the research. Bad move in 1997, I almost paid dearly.
Then my research helped determine that the concept is great, the product is forward reaching, however, the management is hindered by the McCaw family. They might have struck it rich once, but I feel the guidance is not good now. Who am I? Nobody, but that is my opinion, obviously shared by the majority of others that have frequented this thread.
Nextel management is acting like they are small time, in a big time world. Big time management would have helped further this company in one direction, instead of going crazy by taking working capital and expanding the company in five directions at once. Then, to make matters worse, borrowed 2 bil more and offered a better deal to those investors than the present shareholders. What is a better deal? Get 9+% return until the stock value increases, then convert to stock. Sort of left shareholders high and dry, didn't it? If this isn't fact, then I'll be happy to admit this part as incorrect, but, I believe this to be true.
In spite of this, my advice to shareholders that are invested 27 or higher, hang on, don't sell, because this company is going up, just not as soon as we all would wish. I'm still bullish on the concept, the product. Quite frankly, I hope the company is acquired, however, only after I reinvest.
