SUNW, ORCL, NSCP & NOVL & possibly IBM can work together to counter the WINTEL platform. Although, I always thought that ORCL & NOVL had good synergies. NOVL with its huge installed base, needs a strong management team with a vision of what to do to grow the revenue base & continue to provide solutions to the customer base as well as create new competitive space in the fast growing internet/intranet areas. With a war chest of 1 billion dollars, there may be some strategic acquisitions on the cards as well. Hope it is not as disastrous as the previous acquisitions - i.e. USL, DR DOS, Wordperfect ... Rangu
