Ontario's biggest trading partners for what we sell are not other provinces, but the US. That relationship will remain. OTOH the other provinces sell a lot to Ontario. Quebec has the cheese and milk market sewn up right now for example, but after separation, we will be seeking things based on price and Quebec producers will be forced to compete on the open market. No I think the other provinces will rattle about a tad and then decide that there is a bigger benefit to sticking together. The confederation may be looser, the federal government will have to give up a huge amount of power, but based on their performance that may not be much of a loss. And moving the Capital to Moosejaw or Flinflon may make the other provinces more amenable to staying.
