OT The government will always have a role to play. Military, police are examples of things they can do effectively. Unfortunately on the policy side government has not had a stellar record. But there will always be things the private sector will not do. Electrification in the 1930's was one. Medicare is another. A prescription drug plan for seniors is one today. So the government needs to involve itself as the doer of last resort. Hopefully in the next go-round we can getter better performance from them. They will be there and effective government should be the goal of both parties even thought one may want for action than the other.
