So he grew up speaking English, German and Czech. Why Czech? And they never spoke Yiddish in the store while he was there again. That's funny.....they thought they were being clever. My wife was constantly amazed at the number of German words that are used in the US. A lot of them are from Yiddish, although not all. I've probably said this before but did you know that up until recently the largest ethnic group in the US was German.....maybe even today.
