Former Fidelity Magellan manager Jeff Vinik, another former MU and AMAT bull, started purchasing MU shares again last quarter. Vinik's new hedge fund, Vinik Partners, has purchased $55 million worth of Micron in the first quarter to raise his stake to more than 5% of the fund's U.S. equity holdings, according to Cary Krosinsky, Technimetrics's vice president of research. Micron traded between $29 and $45 in the quarter, suggesting that Vinik is either up or even on his position at the moment. Who knows, maybe has been loading up AMAT too !?
