Armed woman defends herself from home invaders Teens shot during break-in charged with robbery By PAIGE HEWITT Copyright 2009 HOUSTON CHRONICLE June 15, 2009, 6:16PM Two 17-year-olds from Spring who were shot by a homeowner during a break-in in north Harris County Sunday morning have been charged. Shalom Mendoza, of the 23000 block of Earlmist, and Gerson Jonathan Linares, of the 23000 block of Canyon Lake, have been charged with aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon. Authorities said the two were inside a woman’s home in the 24000 block of Briarcreek when the she shot them through a door. Linares was shot in the left side and in the right leg and Mendoza was shot in the right shoulder. They fled after the shootings. The teens then called police and reported they had been robbed and shot, police said. chron.com
