Stock bull,

"Is this an option one must order, or is the Zip standard to the Aptiva?"

As a side note, IBM announced their intention to include zip drives in their U.S. Aptivas way back in, I believe, June of 1996. The stock then proceeded to climb about 9 dollars before eventually descending to a close of just over $13 in August.

Apparently, some Aptiva models have zip included and some do not. For example, I have seen Aptivas at Radio Shack without zip included. The Radio Shack people didn't even know what a zip drive was. I don't know what the current Aptiva situation is in the U.S. The real coupe, in my mind, was when Compac distanced themselves from the LS-120 and started offering the zip drive standard in one of their models (model 4814 as I recall). As you know, Compac sells a lot of computers and I have been told by more that one salesperson that that zip-equipped model was their hottest seller in the Compac line in terms of unit sales. Who knows, I don't necessarily believe everything I'm told.

David
