Newsgroup info..I know Microprose does not have the rights to sell
Grand Prix 2 anymore..So I suspect that they will call it something else like GP3..Steve Race did say in the conference call for Q2 98
that GP3 and CIV3 are in the works and set for a Christmas 98 release
maybe more info will show up at E3 like M1 did last year...

FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

Question: Why should I believe that GP3 will be released?
Answer: There are several people talking about it. I've personally got info
from three person who has contacts to Microprose in some way. Even Jim Crammond
has admitted that his brother Geoff is working with GP3. Several big game
magazines also know that GP3 will be released.

Question: How about if there will not be GP3?
Answer: Microprose has denied that they or Geoff aren't working with GP3. All
the facts actually are just rumours and they haven't been 100% confirmed.

Question: Who owns GP1-GP2 source code?
Answer: Geoff Crammond does. This means that it's not 100% sure that GP3 will
be a Microprose game.

Question: When is the estimated release date?
Answer: December 98, but it can be delayed to spring 99. Although the latest
rumours say that it will be released on this summer, the end of this year is
more likely.

Question: Is there any screen shots available?
Answer: Sorry, there no aren't, although quite many people claim to have one.

Question: GP2 does not contain wet weather, IPX network support or 3D-card
support. Why?
Answer: The reason for this is a buggy 3D-engine. This was the main reason why
GP2 was delayed. However, GP3 contains a new 3D-engine which allows these
features.

March 31st, 1998

According a Finnish computer magazine, Mikrobitti, Geoff Crammond is currently
working with Grand Prix 3 and it will be released on this summer. It will be a
Microprose game.

Grand Prix 3 is such well designed that it will become the greatest Formula 1
sim ever made.

March 15th, 1998

Geoff Crammond has given an interview for PC Format Gold Magazine. He told that
he is currently making GP3, which is strongly based on GP2. So it seems that GP3
will be quite similar than GP2, except a new 3D graphics engine.
