The Dutch use the same pumps that are used in New Orleans. In fact the pumps were designed by Baldwin Wood, a New Orleans Sewage and Water Board engineer. It took two pumps to drain the Zuider Zee. There are 50 of these pumps in Orleans Parish alone.
