Spend that much money and unless your incredibly foolish (and perhaps even then) there is going to be some benefit.

There is a huge benefit to SS.

And since the program transfers money from younger workers who have less wealth on the average to older people who typically have more...

It takes the most from people in their prime earning years; generally not younger workers. A wild guess is that people 40-60 contribute well over 65% (no data but makes sense).
