Have you ever read MSFT's license agreements when you install your security patches? The extent of things we're required to agree to is ridiculous. For example, you can't publish any benchmarks comparing .NET with anything else...w/o MSFT approval, that is. That's something I would consider to be a fundamental engineering task in some cases. I'm sure there are other elements of free speech that MSFT has robbed us of.
