Anacomp, Inc. CEO Ralph Koehrer Talks to The Wall Street Transcript
NEW YORK, Sept. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- The Wall Street Transcript has published an in-depth interview with Ralph W. Koehrer, CEO of Anacomp, Inc. (Nasdaq: ANCO), in which he talks at length about his company's future. The interview is available free online at twst.com
He says, "Anacomp is a computer services company. It's 31 years old with an international presence. We operate in about 15 countries and have about 3,000 employees. In fiscal year 1998, we were about $500 million in revenue. We're primarily in the outsourcing business, but really, we have three primary lines of business."
He explains, "The first one we call Document Management Solutions, which is really the outsourcing business. Our customers provide their most critical documents to us, we will put them on paper, on micrographics (fiche or microfilm), on CD, and now we'll put them on the Internet. Those latter two, CD and Internet, are very rapidly growing pieces of our business."
He asserts, "We have three lines of business. Document Management Solutions, that's really our growth business. It's outsourcing, but outsourcing on the back of a business process re-engineering, consultative sell. Then there is Field Service, where we're growing our third-party maintenance business very nicely. And we have Hardware Systems and Supplies, which is our cash cow business, which I suspect will go on for quite a few years."
Looking forward, he states, "Internet technology and browser technology are enabling things that five years ago we would never have thought about. So I think we have great market potential and our business will grow. The growth area will be the Internet-based document services, but there's still good growth in the CD business."
