Have you looked into the high-dividend monthly paying Canadian energy stocks? They trade on the NYSE, trade options and pay monthly dividends? If you get called away - you don't miss much dividend income.

A few of the high-dividend ( 6% range ) Canadian oil and gas companies with a monthly dividend are:

BTE
PWE
PGN
ERF

I believe all these companies have converted from Canadian O&G Royalty trusts into corporations. I expected bigger dividend reductions after the conversion from Trusts into Corporations. The market disagreed and many of the ex-O&G trusts (now corporations) are trading near all-time highs.

I retired five years ago and have made good returns in high growth cap oil exploration and production companies with a smaller market cap and more room to grow.

Other high-dividend oil and gas stocks.
YPF
SDRL
