Analysis of Friday's activity: A lot of traders shorted the market in the morning and got caught in a bear trap in the late afternoon. There was a positive cash flow into the funds on Friday. The managers used up a lot of money in pushing the market back up. That's from my source, who I can't name because he's pretty well known. Will the fund managers be able to get the bull back on its feet? I don't have enough data to say what the public is going to do, which is the main determinant here. But if the public doesn't help out, it sounds like the managers are going to have to work very hard.
