I think Peter, that the tariff was to make the US companies more competitive, so we would have to raise it more than 15%, but I'm no expert. I'm surrounded by trees, but they're all hardwood. <gg> Perhaps marcos will chime in.

I'm all for some tough action, but it would have to be carefully thought out. We are still overly reliant on uncle Sam for our exports, something that is slow to change, but hopefully will. Selling a few more trees could cost much more than the tariff, cutting off the oil could have the marines on Parliament hill.

I think it was Pierre, the one who people love to hate, that said something to the effect "it's like sleeping with an elephant, not bad unless he decides to roll over".

That said, I would be much happier if our so called "leaders" and wannabes would grow some balls.
