you are right in general terms but to get countries and fellow democracys off the teat, you must go slow. We have done a better job in iraq in preparing that country for pull out than we do in korea. What started as a tripwire now is viewed as a stick in the eye by the north koreans. SK doesnt need tripwire anymore. China no longer implacable enemy to SK either. Yup US gotta pull back and come up with more realistic fp that takes into account our national interests as they exist today, not the national interest that existed in the 50s and 60s when soviets and chinese were real threats.
