I don't think IBM wants Sun. IBM have a finger in all the pies that Sun do, and many more besides. I think they know they can compete based on a broad offering. FOr instance, IBM Global Services consultants can visit a client and if they feel Windows servers are the best way forward, they will say so, if they feel Unix is best, they will say so. A rounded sensible approach. Sun can't do that. Maybe RHAT would consider buying Sun<g/ng>?
