Star Office can do that.

I would think MSFT would be within legal rights to forbid this by using a proprietary method of encoding, just as QCOM invented a proprietary protocol for communicating in the wireless medium. But MSFT doesn't do that, so Sun are allowed to make a little money off MSFT's hard work <G>.
