Was watching the local news reporting the court's decision. There was the ubiquitous reporter asking JQPs what they thought of the ruling. Unanimous - they all thought it was a great idea that everyone is going to get free access to universal healthcare.

One dad said that now his 20-something daughters can have free healthcare and they don't have to go out and buy it for themselves.

One Mexican lady thought it was great. She's never had health insurance or access to free healthcare.

Another man was upset because he already has full coverage at the Vet and doesn't need Obamacare. He's happy with the Vet and thinks that it's going to disappear now.

There were a few others who voiced similar uninformed opinions.

"There you have it ladies and gentlemen. Everyone we've interviewed thinks this is a great thing for America. This is Ms. Mindless Reporter reporting from the streets of Hollywood."

Never once did she correct them that it wasn't free. But they all think it is.

The effects of this won't kick in until after the election. And then it will be too late.

Very few people understand what's going on. The people who listen to Rush already know what it means. He will not be convincing anyone new.

Maybe over 60% of the people think Obamacare is a bad idea, but they'll just accept it as inevitable.

Unless the MSM gets into the act and reports it for what it is, the majority of the people are not going to have a clue about what it really means.

Romney's people have to use that sound bite of Obama's that he will never raise taxes (Read my lips moment) on any American making less than $250K and demonstrate that this is a tax increase. Even then, I doubt that most people will make the connection.

Most people don't follow the news unless it's car chases, traffic, gang shootings or weather. They're not interested in what goes on in Washington - especially here in California.

Look at the TV ratings: O'Reilly pulls in 7 million on a good day. Let's double that and pretend that there are 14 million people who pay attention to what's going on. There are 313 million people in this country. Few of them vote the issues. They vote the sound bites and wardrobe.
