Aaron,

Don't forget to consider the money AMD would be losing trying to
keep up with INTC without the NextGen purchase. They were way behind
when they bought NextGen and stopped development on K6. They were pouring money into a bottomless pit trying to compete with INTC.

Now they are equal in technology and the INTC golden goose is going
to start laying much smaller eggs. If they are not careful someone
may come from behind and steel that goose away.
