Those lunatics may try that even though there's no legal basis for using the 14th Amendment...

The 14th Amendment was intended to stop Alexander Stephens from running as a democrat for the Senate Seat for Georgia after the end of the Civil War...

Alexander Stephens was the Vice President of the Confederacy...

The intent of the 14th Amendment was to disqualify anyone who participated in the insurrection of the United States from running for any public office...

The law was finally passed in December of 1868 while Stephens was already elected for that seat one month earlier, so he held two terms as Senator for Georgia despite the efforts of Congress to stop him...

This is the reason why the lunatics today are trying to find Donald guilty of staging an insurrection even though there's absolutely zero evidence to support such an absurd claim...
