From what I have read, I would agree with you that PCTL is likely to continue using VSVR MCUs - for now. My guess is, that as the market goes into the next generation of MCU (Multimedia, Multinetwork) PCTL will have developed their own offering with the Multilink technology.
But ISDN MCUs will be the bread and butter for a long while yet, so VSVR should have ample time to adapt and compensate.
