RESEARCH ALERT-JP Morgan raises Cendant 2002 profit forecast
biz.yahoo.com
NEW YORK, March 6 (Reuters) - JP Morgan on Wednesday said it raised its earnings forecasts for Cendant Corp. (NYSE:CD) as it believes travel volumes for the first half of the year will be stronger than previously expected.

JP Morgan said it raised its 2002 forecast to $1.35 per share from $1.33. Its first-quarter guidance was raised to 32 cents per share from 31 cents, and its second-quarter guidance rose to 36 cents from 35 cents.

Higher travel volumes should drive contributions from Cendant's Galileo unit and its Avis car rental business, JP Morgan said in a research note.
