Who the hell needs these hyper chips and pc's? We need 'em. Us database enterprise people. We are currently at the very initial stages of a shift from unix to wintel. Also massive automation in the enterprise space involving e-commerce apps and other biz automation. There are a few things fueling this, many of which are software having nothing to do with intc (such as, msft's new sql server - sphinx - rumored to be awsome, and new databases that support multimedia etc) but the fact is intc, and specifically merced will be the recipients of this shift. Im not saying the enterprise space will completely make up for the lack of a killer app at the low end that needs more processing power, but don't forget there is more than intc traditional customer base out there.
