Bob Dylan picked up the best
original song - motion picture honor
at the 58th annual Golden Globes
ceremony last night (Jan. 21) at the
Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles.
Faced with a standing ovation from
a room full of Hollywood's elite, a
bemused Dylan delivered a brief
acceptance speech, saying, "This is quite something
really. Thanks Hollywood Foreign Press, thanks to my
band, record company, and everyone in my family.
That's about it."

Dylan beat out two-time nominee Bjork ("I've Seen It
All" from "Dancer In The Dark"), who left the
ceremony empty-handed, having lost the best
performance by an actress in a motion picture award to
Julia Roberts. Other nominees were Sting ("My Funny
Friend And Me" from "The Emperor's New Groove"),
Bosson ("One In A Million" from "Miss Congeniality"),
and Garth Brooks and Jenny Yates ("When You Come
Back To Me Again" from "Frequency").

Accomplished composer Hans Zimmer shared the best
original score - motion picture award with former Dead
Can Dance member Lisa Gerrard for their work on the
Russell Crowe film "Gladiator."
