A lot of 401k plans allow a partial rollover into a personal ira account depending on how long you held the funds. I was able to roll out 30% into a Schwab IRA. Call your 401K manager and they should know how much you can rollover.

For what its worth, I switched my 1/2 my 401k to cash in early December and the other half last week.
