Re: Jaz 2GB specs

It's clear that after the reports of reliability problems with early Jaz 1GB models that IOM has put a great emphasis on reliability over performance with Jaz 2GB. This is understandable since their target market (high-end multimedia and engineering users) will pay a premium for don't-have-to-think-twice reliability ratings. As for price, I just have to think back to what KE said at the last conference call: "We have a unique strategy with these products--to make money." I think IOM is content to allow SYQT and others to bleed themselves white pushing loss-leading merchandise. If SYQT is ever able to show that they can earn a profit on their stuff then I'm sure IOM will respond appropriately. In the meantime, I'm encouraged that IOM appears to be able to command a premium price for their product offerings. $149 is nothing compared the value of up to 2GB of CADAM data that the cartridge may contain. Ever stop to think what a can of Coca Cola really costs to produce? It's nice to be in that kind of business.
