3GSM is CDMA by another name, in case you hadn't noticed. 3GSM is also a QCOM version, but contaminated with euronut cartel concepts such as lack of synchronization, a dopey chip rate, defective coding [not turbo-charged] and other problems which have made it perform very badly compared with 1xEV-DO which is accelerating further with Dora and Dorb. To also have Flarion's OFDM added in due course, along with wifi developments. W-CDMA has now lumbered into gear and FOMA for example is doing okay, though they lost a huge market share and head start. I'm not a Europhobe, just a BigBrotherphobe. I have sat in a meeting with the Euronut EU environment officials [in the 1980s] to discuss diesel fuel and specifications. They were all smoking, which was amusing since they were supposed to be the environmental protectors, and were hopeless. What they really wanted was more Big Brotherism, more rules to hinder everyone and more jobs for their ilk and more cash flow for them of course. Getting a real job would NOT have been their cup of tea. They specify beer froth and banana bend or maybe it's cucumber bend and banana colour or something. Crazy stuff. I explained how they didn't have a clue on diesel specifications. They, of course, wanted a eurodiesel to go with their dopey 95 octane eurograde, with everyone using the same thing. As long as everyone goose-steps in order, and complies with Kremlin central planning and pays tribute and kneels to not Mecca but Bruxelles, they are happy. Mqurice
