The History Channel had a program about Hispanic Medal of Honor Winners. I learned that there are quite a few! Some of them were awarded citizenship after they got the Medal.

Those guys are great examples of how people aspiring to become or act like Americans should model themselves. Not one of them talked about what the country owed them; they all talked about what it meant to them to give to the country.

Would that we all had such qualities.
