Doctor: Lest I be remiss, I wish to thank you for that link discussing sterilization of foodstuffs by irradiation. Quite interesting. The article notes that NASA astronaut food is subjected to irradiation. Indeed, if memory serves, I under- stand that Europe has embraced the ionizing irradiation "so- lution" all hallow whilst the American consumers are quite resistant to the idea, though Escherichia coli is easily dis- patched by this means.
