Smart Bombs are probably a harbinger of the future. The next wave of IPOs, I'm guessing, will all have "smart" in their names, just like previous IPO waves have all had "tech" or ".com" in their names.

Biznews, January 15, 2011:
The latest offering in the booming IPO market is SmartPets, yet another "Smart" startup, following closely on the wildly successful SmartCar and SmartSpouse IPOs.
SmartPets makes 6-legged glow-in-the-dark Gen-poodles, in your choice of 1038 colors. Upgraded models include a GPS/proximity-alarm/satellite-uplink implant, so your jealous neighbors can't steal it. Also available are "poison-pill", "BugSniffer", "Rambo", and the highend "SpecialForces" models, so your pet can function as a disguised personal security system. Go for a walk and feel safe, is the marketting plan. Retail stores are open in New York and Tel Aviv, but most sales are expected to be through Amazon's successful Security online store. |
