The rise in crude helped the Fed. What the Fed fears most is that as we recover, the economy will heat up too fast and they will be forced to raise rates. The rise in the price of crude works to cool the economy and the cooling sets up the situation for crude to fall. Its a self regulating mechanism and allows the Fed to stay on the sidelines (where they belong). I think we're going to see much lower crude prices in the not too distant future.
