My point is that the VIX is not likely to move downward without some movement higher towards the shorter term moving averages. When the VIX becomes stretched too far from the 10 day moving average something has to give. Obviously the moving average can and does move downward but the VIX can also spike back higher. When this happens the SOX generally falls.

Lets wait and see what happens over the few days before we pass judgement on the usage of indicators of this particular indicator please.
