Dr Davis's latest comment on fats. The diet he refers to is listed in my header:

I believe that, consistent with the popular discussion, coconut oil, being a lauric acid source, is relatively benign. However, I am not so willing to suggest that we load our diets with animal products and thereby saturated fat (or whatever component of animal products yield adverse effects) ad lib. I am aware that there is intense disagreement on this point, but I cannot get beyond the specific feeding studies that pit one fat type against another, while non-fat components of diet are held constant (namely carbohydrates), and still show specific inflammatory, endothelial dysfunctional, and oxidative effects.
