This company's management has been straightforward, honest, and conservative for years.
Given the spate of bad news, it's difficult to keep the faith, but if their words hold true (as they always have), T2 is coming soon -- no real problem; this quarter will miss by .02 or .03; they'll make the year.
The optimistic view is that Ron is simply fed up with the hits they've (he's) taken, first because of an analyst's comments, and next because of a product delay due in part to a partner. I don't even want to speculate about the pessimistic view.
Of course, I am concerned that there's more bad news, but ...
We should get a better idea at the H&Q conference Monday. Although they are in a quiet period, I expect questions about Ron's reasons for leaving to be answered, as well as those about T2, managed switches, and general prospects.
I also hope that the internet will be mentioned early and often -- not just through routers and swithches, but through embedded internet devices.
I don't know why they don't issue a press release to remove some of the uncertainty. |
