AD, another light reading suggestion is John Kenneth Galbraith's 200 page book "The Great Crash 1929". The book has been around since 1954, but the new introduction was written in 1997. The author managed to put 1929 in perspective, with witty detachment. I was surprised to learn that back then less than 1% of the population invested in stocks and 5 million shares was a high volume day.

BW used to say in their subscriber e-mail that Monday noon is the time the online version becomes available. That is supposed to apply to articles labelled "BW" businessweek.com
