Cobalt is a strategic metal used principally in high tech - high temp alloys for aerospace applications. Traditionally Zambia and Zaire provide the majority of the worlds production. Instability in these regions are putting this supply in doubt and as a consequence the price is rising. Canmine Resources has been developing a significant Cobalt property in the Werner - Rex Lake lineament running from Ontario into Manitoba. Canmine has just been granted approval for their test mill and have been consistently drilling off world class ore grade numbers. This area has every indication of being able to supply significant tonnages of cobalt(as well as good grades of Cu and Au) to the market in a stable political setting. The cobalt potential of this region should not be overlooked when considering investment in the future of cobalt. The only other company with a high potential property in this region is Rockhopper Corporation (private), this property is bounded on three sides by Canmines' prime land position and is traversed by the Werner-Rex lake lineament. Ground geophysics has identified two drill targets in favourable geology which are scheduled to be drilled in the Fall.
