I believe that there is already a DVD rewritable drive on the market already. Sony's DVD-RW (a competing standard) is due by Christmas.

I have 2 CD-RW drives right now. My favorite is the Yamaha 4260tx. It is 6x read, 4x write, and 2x re-write. I use Adaptec Toast and a Power Mac. My other CD burner is a JVC 2040RW housed in a QPS case. I was forced to get this one as part of a bundle. Otherwise, I would have gotten antoer Yamaha. Or maybe a Plextor. I hear they are good too.
