New Patent Application Published! DIAMOND BLADE OPTICS?

Here is the link: appft.uspto.gov

I glanced through it just now and have the following initial comments.

I note that it is based on a "gradient index" of the lens material (the Daugela's call it a GRIN lens), which is the mechanism for bending the light rays that enables these to be flat lenses and is what I proposed in my January 17, 2017 post here as a possible means for making flat lenses when we were speculating about how Blade Optics would work before that application was published.

I also note that although flat surfaces are employed, no reflective surface is required, so Diamond Blade Optics is a stand alone technology that is NOT dominated by the '900 Blade Optics patent and will spawn off its own family of patent applications. I think this is a good thing!

Should these claims be allowed in their current form, it will be another very broad dominating patent.

GLTAL,
Jeff
