Steve, I'm not sure that ECSC is really a take-over target. None of their technology is as potentially revolutionary as Calgene's, nor is it unique. For instance, ECSC licenses its Bio-save technology from U. of Washington, who also licenses similar technology to at least one other company. And, at present, much of ECSC's revenues come from the fruit sorting and grading equipment that they license from a European outfit (and again, apparently not on an exclusive basis). I'm still "bullish" on the company as a real "value" play, but not as yet as a potential takeover target. Maybe after they've proven the market for bio-blast and bio-save they'll be a lot more attractive as a potential takeover. Just my opinion, though, and you could well be correct; time will tell the answer.
