Bill-- Yes, the Sun people are one of its best assets. They are there when you need them, with answers. I don't think your experience was a fluke. Sun service is better in my experience (I'm a system administrator/software developer) than HP or IBM. (Once I had someone from IBM call me to find out why 50 service contracts had been dropped--I only knew about one of them, but mine was the only phone number he had! Well, you get the idea.)

With Enterprise servers and Ultrasparcs at the high end and NC's at the low end, it looks as if Sun is trying to surround Wintel rather than compete head on. It's admittedly difficult to know if they will succeed, because NT hasn't defined its full audience yet. Have I got this right? The business end is hard to see from the technical end, and vice versa.

I hope this gives investors a lift in outlook if not yet in price. I'm buying a little at a time, as it goes down. Others may prefer to buy on the way up.
