Not to be a Mac Evangilist, but:
Given all the recent crap that Apple has been through (put itself through) a decline in developer interest is not surprising.

Given the recent (and not so recent) press coverage of Apple, many would think it stupid to even consider buying a Mac, much less developing for it.

I'm sure developers waited until WWDC before purchasing Codewarrior, Show deals alone could have been the reason, but I agree that the outcome of the show was what they were waiting for.

I have to admit, I don't understand what the "C++ job postings on the internet" stuff has to do with anything, especially Mac marketshare.

In response to the Jobs rumor, Jobs announced nothing. Apple filed a routine SEC form in compliance with their arrangement at the time of the purchase of NeXT. The media has taken nothing and turned it into a giant billboard declaring the death of Apple (one more time).

Metrowerks will be fine, Apple will be fine, even SGI will be fine, once the feeding frenzies end.
