XPS 3.5 with ThruSpeed technology addresses the "need for speed" with advanced caching and intelligent load balancing.
Sagent currently licenses XPS as the foundation of its Sagent Portal product and plans to transition to XPS 3.5. "XPS is an important component of Sagent Portal because it provides a flexible framework for integrating and delivering sophisticated Web-based analytic applications to a broad audience of users," said Ellen Raynor, vice-president of product management, Sagent. "Sequoia's high performance architecture, and extensive use of XML, combined with the powerful Sagent Solution, will provide our customers with unmatched access to personalized business intelligence information in real time," Raynor said.
In addition to boosting performance, XPS 3.5 includes enhancements to the product's administrative functionality, reducing the effort required to deploy and maintain XPS-based portals.
XPS 3.5 New Features and Benefits
ThruSpeed(TM) Technology consisting of:
State Server--Accelerates end user access to information by
recognizing and persisting certain data elements that are most
critical to portal users. The State Server, which operates on
its own computer, also enhances operating performance and
stability, especially for installations serving large user
populations or volumes of data.
Intelligent Load Balancer--works in conjunction with the State
Server to send user requests to the machine with the least
workload, creating faster response times and improved
application performance for end users, whether they are
interacting with XPS through a browser or Internet-enabled
wireless device.
Enhanced Development Environment Means Faster Deployments--XPS
provides developers with a highly configurable environment
that enables fast deployment with little or no programming.
XPS 3.5 extends this environment, allowing developers to view
and test portal configurations automatically, reducing the
time required to bring XPS live. The new development
environment also makes it easier for portal administrators to
capture data from virtually any source, regardless of
location.
XPS 3.5 is available immediately for Windows NT and Windows 2000.
