Geneva convention does not make a difference about where the prisoners are detained, though.

as a non-legal person : Geneva convention applies to enemy soldiers who can be identified (on capture) by their uniform. A soldier from country A captured by the enemy, whilst not wearing his/her uniform does not get GC rights.
