There is room in the market for both Full rate ADSL and G.Lite ADSL, same holds true for Satellite, Cable and xDSL. I believe cable has the early lead, but G.Lite will catch up very fast. Also some form of wireless will become a major player as time goes by...there is a demand to free ourselves from the constraints of a hard wired connection.

There is a huge amount of copper lines in places with existing connections, the cost to upgrade that to DSL is the cheapest for the most customers...IMO.

When cable started to be used for Internet connections and xDSL was still being stone walled by the Telcos, I looked for which one would be the winner. I've since come to understand that they both will win to some degree...and successful investments can be made in both.
