It is outrageous when the liberal democraps have to go back to a man who died in 1973 to quote as a "leader" of the conservative movement...

Jeezus, how many parts of a sentence can you get totally wrong? Neither I nor the authors of the several articles I've posted are affiliated with the Democratic Party, TTBOMK. I most certainly am not a Democrat. Nor am I particularly liberal. I'm registered Independent, and my last party affiliation was the Green Party in California a decade ago. I prefer to be a "free thinker", though I loathe those who lie about their love of "free markets". If you catch my driftnet.

Re: quote as a "leader" -- Absolutely no one said the Leo Strauss was the "leader" of anything. The articles clearly state that he was the "spiritual" and "intellectual" father of the neo-conservative movement.

Re: the conservative movement -- You are hopelessly shallow in your comprehension of the term conservative. What Strauss was the inspiration for is the "NEO-CONSERVATIVE sect". These people have nothing whatsoever to do with the "conservative movement". Strauss is the progenitor of a radical, extremist abberation in totalitarian elitism which is absolutely anathema to real conservatives. The Neo-cons are a variety of fascism, incorporating Likudnik Zionism, messianic end-of-days Christian insanity and megalomaniacal imperialism, ruthless greed and rapacious disregard for the environment. Neo-cons are completely anathema to true conservatives.

Re: Do you still listen to Stalin?

No, how about you? Still hearing those voices?

"It doesn't matter who votes, it matters who counts the votes." -- Variously ascribed to Iosif Dzugashvili and Walter O'Dell, CEO of the Diebold Corporation (the electronic voting fraud people) and Bush/Cheney 1984 "Pioneer" (i.e. major league bribery and shakedown artist).
