It sounds as if Cisco IOS is (or can be) a layer on top of vxworks. It may be that their core IOS is written for a particular processor (what is the processor in a Cisco box?), but now they are branching into new hosts for network devices, they find vxworks attractive because they can get to market much quicker on a variety of processors. It sounds like a crucial, key win for WIND... Richard
