I have my own thread, rarely venture away from it. The problem with this kind of thing is that everyone want THEIR stock to be the one everyone talks about. Man I spend hours scanning a researching stocks. The last thing I do is a search on SI for the ticker before buying. If it's all over the place, adios amigo. If it doesn't even have a thread, great!
